HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF PALM BEACH COUNTY HOSTS AN INTIMATE STREET FAIR AT 12th ANNUAL EVENING ON ANTIQUE ROW

PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 6, 2007)--- Tucked between some of West Palm Beach's most interesting and historic neighborhoods and its trendy downtown is one of the most charming antiques and décor districts on the east coast of the United States, West Palm Beach's Antique Row located on Dixie Highway. On March 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the district will come to life with food, fun and entertainment for the 12th Annual Evening on Antique Row, a benefit for the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. Co-hosted by The Young Friends of the Historical Society and the South Dixie Antique Row Association, the upscale, seven-block street fair offers visitors a chance to stroll through the nationally acclaimed corridor's unique array of boutiques and galleries and learn why it is a favorite destination among the country's leading interior designers.

The event is chaired by Janet Murphy, Nicole Atkinson, Grier Pressly and Tracy Coffey, president of the Antique Row Merchants Association. Tickets are $30 each, or two for $55 and can be purchased in advance through the Historical Society or at the entrances, located at the 3300 and 3900 blocks of S. Dixie Highway. Tickets at the door are $35 each.

"Evening on Antique Row has a lot of appeal because it blends history and design into one unique street party with a festive, fun flavor," said co-chair, Janet Murphy.

For the second year in a row, the event will close Dixie Highway to vehicular traffic between Southern Boulevard and Greenwood Drive. This allows guests to safely travel up and down the street to explore more than 45 unique shops, each offering fine collections of 17th to 20th century antiques, decorative arts, period furnishings, fine art and more. Visitors will also be treated to horse and carriage and trolley rides, and several musical groups will provide the outdoor entertainment. Each store will also provide a sampling of hors d'oeuvres and beverages.

Sponsors for the event include The Breakers; First Bank of the Palm Beaches; Central Park Plaza; LB Rowe; Carey O'Donnell PR Group; Anderson & Carr, inc.; South Ocean Builders, Inc.; George Brittain Land Design; Cushman and Wakefield; Gracie Street; Pierre Anthony Antiques; Residences at Antique Row; Beth Moross - Sotheby's International Realty; Murray & Guari; Sir Speedy - Dixie Hwy.; Cypress Capital; Dailey Janssen Architects; Very Important Paws; South Dixie Antique Row Association; Tranquility Professional Organizing; The Palm Beach Post; Palm Beach Daily News; and Palm Beach Life.
