HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF PALM BEACH COUNTY'S YOUNG FRIENDS GROUP HOST KICK-OFF EVENT FOR "EVENING ON ANTIQUE ROW"
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (September 14, 2006)--- The Young Friends of the Historical Society welcomed nearly 40 guests at a special kick-off reception to form the host committee for the 12th Annual Evening on Antique Row, to be held on March 3, 2007 along Dixie Hwy. in the nationally acclaimed antiques district of West Palm Beach. The preview event was held at 'Double Dog,' the historic El Cid home of Ross Meltzer and Tom Samet, and co-hosted by event chairs Janet Murphy, Nicole Atkinson, Grier Pressly and Tracy Coffey, president of the Antique Row Merchants Association. Party-goers sipped Antique Row Punch specially created by The Breakers, and enjoyed food by Antique Row favorite Belle & Maxwell's.
Among in attendance were Maureen Basse, Renee and Dogan Bengisu, Nicole and David Atkinson, Melissa Lee, Micah and Rob Ford, Jackie and Beau Breckenridge, Jennifer Risdon, Janet Murphy, Katie and Ben Alexander, Harvey Oyer, Rachel Green, Dawn and Christopher Fox, Kristy and Grier Pressly, Jamie and Scott Murray, Susan and Mark Elhilow, Page Pressly, Tracy Coffey, Elizabeth Brown, Kelly Layman and Michael McAuliffe.
Last year's Evening on Antique Row closed Dixie Hwy. between Southern Blvd and Greenwood Ave. and attracted more than 1,200 guests with live entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, horse and carriage rides and more, allowing visitors to explore the area's 50 unique shops, each offering collections of 17th to 20th century antiques, decorative arts, period furnishings and fine art. The event benefits the educational programs of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. Tickets are $30 each, or two for $55 and can be purchased in advance through the Historical Society or at the entrance, located at the 3700 block of S. Dixie Highway. Host Committee membership is $100 and includes two tickets to the Evening on Antique Row, and two tickets to the After-Party to be held at L.B. Rowe. Host committee members also will have their name included on the invitations for the event.
