HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND U.S. TRUST HOST SOUTHAMPTON RECEPTION TO HONOR PALM BEACH CONNOISSEUR FAIR BENEFIT COMMITTEES
SOUTHAMPTON, New York (August 12, 2005)—The Historical Society of Palm Beach County and U.S. Trust Company hosted an intimate cocktail reception at the Southampton Club on August 5 to pay tribute to the benefit committees and chairs of The Palm Beach Connoisseur Fair Preview Evening, the exclusive opening reception for the first major art and antiques show of the upcoming Palm Beach season. Brantley Knowles is the Preview Evening chair and Frances Scaife serves as honorary chair. Tom Quick and Kathy Bleznak are vice-chairs.
Among the guests at the Southampton Club were Susan Gubelmann, Marjorie Gubelmann Raein, Town & Country’s Pamela Fiori, Andrea Stark, Tom Quick, John Mashek, Joe and Sheila O’Malley, Nicky Harris, Jackie Harris Hochberg, Brantley and Peter Knowles, Steven Stolman, Jack Young, Don Burns, Greg Connors, sisters Maribeth and Ellen Welsh, Kathy and Alan Bleznack, Mark Stevens, Rosalind Clarke, Laura Coyner, Harvey Oyer, Judith Morell, Minot and Victoria Amory, Isolde O’Hanlon, Brooke Corton, Jackie and Beau Breckenridge, Jeff and Bonnie Abrams, Serge de Araujo, Susie Boren and Dr. Julian Hudson. Also in attendance was architectural historian Gary Lawrence, who provided a brief discussion about the connection between Southampton and Palm Beach and the importance of preserving the architectural treasures in both areas.
The Preview Evening for the 2nd Annual Palm Beach Connoisseur Fair will be held January 5, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m at the Cohen Pavilion at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. The elegant opening reception will provide invited guests with the opportunity to meet with the prestigious selection of international and national dealers of fine art, antiques and décor and view the collections on display prior to the general public. The Historical Society will also host the popular Palm Beach Connoisseur Fair lecture series, which features the leading names in style, design and décor. The Preview Evening and lecture series are sponsored by U.S. Trust Company, Town & Country, Salvatore Ferragamo, Pomellato and Audi, and proceeds will benefit the Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
