NEARLY 400 GUESTS ATTEND PREVIEW EVENING FOR THE INAUGURAL PALM BEACH CONNOISSEUR FAIR
PALM BEACH, Fla. (January XX, 2005)--- An enthusiastic crowd of nearly 400 friends, patrons, benefactors and supporters of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County attended the Preview Evening for the inaugural Palm Beach Connoisseur Fair in the Cohen Pavilion at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. The elegant reception provided the opportunity for guests to meet with the show's impressive selection of international and national dealers of fine art and décor and view the works and wares before the doors opened to the general public. Guests were also treated to exchanges with style and design icons, Simon Doonan, Pamela Fiori, John Bly and Adrianna Scalamandre-Bitter, who were the guest presenters for the Historical Society's lecture series, which was held during the Connoisseur Fair.
Brantley Knowles, and honorary chairs Frances and Jennie Scaife, along with corporate sponsors US Trust Company and Town and Country, welcomed guests including Pauline Pitt; Palm Beach Mayor Lesly Smith; Kit and William Panill; Donna Long; Ross Meltzer; Tom Samet; Jonathan Adler; Renate and Alex Dreyfoos; Tom Quick; Gay Hart Gaines; Kathy and Alan Bleznak; the Earl and Countess of Caithness.
The Palm Beach Connoisseur Fair, presented by James Crystal Productions, featured the "best of the best" in fine art, decor and collectibles, including American and European furniture, jewelry, décor, textiles, silver, traditional and modern paintings, drawings and prints, objects d'art, books, manuscripts, autographs, photographs and more. Exhibitors included John Bly Antiques, Orley & Shabahang, Mark Borghi Fine Art, Europa, Iliad Antik; Creations Henry Jacques and many others.
