HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF PALM BEACH COUNTY APPOINTS TWO PALM BEACH RESIDENTS TO BOARD OF GOVERNORS

PALM BEACH, Fla. (February XX, 2005)--- The Historical Society of Palm Beach County has appointed Palm Beach residents Danielle Hickox and Rosalind Clarke to its Board of Governors. They join current board members, Harvey Oyer; Philip A. Whitacre; George T. Elmore; Laurel Baker; Jane Hill Told; Mark B. Elhilow; Thomas C. Trimble; C. Wesley Blackman; F. Ted Brown, Jr., Edie Cary, Charlie Lovett Ellington, Vera R. Farrington, Robert Ganger, Robert J. Green, M.D., Charles V.V. Hardiman, Peter I.C. Knowles, II, William P. Mech, Ph.D., Loren Mintz, Janet Murphy, Jonathan Satter and Steven Stolman.

Danielle Hickox

Danielle Hickox has a long family legacy of philanthropy in the local community, following in the footsteps of her grandmother, Mary Alice Fortin and her mother, former Palm Beach mayor, Lesly Smith. She serves on the board of some of the area’s leading non-profit organizations, including the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens); the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County; the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach; The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties; The Garden Club of Palm Beach; Opportunity Inc.; Rosarian Academy; and the Palm Beach Community Chest/United Way. She is also an avid golfer who serves as the Director for the Women’s Southern Golf Association, associate director for the Women’s Trans National Golf Association and an advisor to the “Golf for Women” National Club Championship. She is a licensed Realtor-Associate and is associated with Sotheby’s International Realty in Palm Beach .

Rosalind Clarke


Rosalind Clarke is senior vice president of the Corcoran Group, one of the country’s leading residential real estate firms. She is the former co-owner of McCann Coyner Clarke Real Estate in Palm Beach , which was purchased by the Corcoran Group in 2004. She is a high profile leader in Palm Beach real estate, where she has received numerous professional accolades, including the 1992 Realtor of the Year Award. She most recently served as the 2004 president of the Palm Beach Board of Realtors. She is also involved in many charitable organizations in her native Great Britain and in Palm Beach , where she supports Opportunity, Inc. and Turtle Nest Village , in addition to the Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
