“EVENING ON ANTIQUE ROW” OFFERS FOOD,
FUN AND A PEEK INSIDE DOZENS OF ANTIQUE SHOPS
PALM BEACH, Fla. (February, 2004)--- The Young Friends of
the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and the Antique
Row Association welcomed a crowd of over 600 to the Ninth
Annual “Evening on Antique Row,” held on Feb.
6 in the nationally acclaimed antiques district of West
Palm Beach. The annual benefit for the Historical Society
of Palm Beach County was followed by The Young Friends of
the Historical Society private after-party at the trendy
Hotel Biba in West Palm Beach, a historic hotel boasting
an interior with an eclectic, contemporary flare surrounded
by intimate Asian gardens. There, members of the Historical
Society, Antique Row dealers and event sponsors celebrated
the success of the event and feasted on hors d’oeuvres
provided by Legal Sea Foods. The event raised more than
$9,000 for the Historical Society and its programs.
The ninth annual Evening on Antique Row featured
cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment inside
the five-block section of Antique Row, home to over 45 shops
offering collections of 17th to 20th century antiques, decorative
arts, period furnishings, collectibles and more. The evening
gave visitors the opportunity to stroll through the district,
visit the shops and see why the area is a destination for
the world’s leading interior designers. Highlights
of the evening included horse and buggy rides up and down
the corridor and a raffle featuring gift certificates to
historic areas in Palm Beach County, including Delray Beach,
Palm Beach, West Palm Beach and the stores on Antique Row.
